Then It Was Tuesday

It rained this evening, filling up the ditches some more. That will be nice for tomorrow.

Today I decided there was nothing I could do about the alleged broken pipe, so I spent the whole day in the office. I had some editing work to do, and I needed to work on my sermon from Sunday to send out.

I only came out for chores, meals, naps, and collecting water from ditch. It felt good to get some work done that could actually influence.

Steph had some baking to do today. Oscar and Maria have placed some orders for baked things they want to sell in Cusco alongside their cheese. She made cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, bread rolls, and some loaf bread.

They had taken some samples last week, which sold better than they expected. They said if it keeps selling, they will want to order larger quantities. That would be a blessing for us.

Oscar is also looking for some men to help me dig the pipe up. With all the variables to consider, paying several men to find the problem quickly seems the better route to go. No one from the water committee has called, which is not surprising.

Rafael told me he’s going to bike out tomorrow to see if he can find a place that looks dug up. He thinks it should be simple to find where the pipe was broken, as he’s sure it was vandalism. He may or may not show up, but it would be good to see him again.

This morning in my Bible reading plan, I came to Psalm 63 in which David tells God…

β€œO God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you.

My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.

I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.

You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭63:1-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This made me smile. Knowing God knew I’d come across this verse today was special. It was also the reminder I needed: God is so good to me, these small troubles cannot take my joy. I had a happier day carrying that thought with me. Perhaps it can be an encouragement to you.

Thank you to all who let us know you’re praying for us, and to those who had suggestions. We need your support. I ask God to bless you for your care.
