Trip to the States Coming Up

Yes, you are seeing this post in the old place. The reason is simple: I have greatly disliked all other options I have tried to communicate with you all. I could not easily send my thoughts out when I wanted or to whom I wanted. WordPress allows me to do that, and I’m techinically challenged enough that I’m just going to do this way. I did some clean up to the subscription list, and I think those who really want to see this update can.

Before I get into the purpose of this post, I will say that I have enjoyed my break away from the blog the past four months. It has been good to stay in touch with some of you via the WhatsApp group for Patrons, and we’ve maintained contact with a few more of you besides. Thank you for being interested in the work here.

My fingers are itching to tell you all about the past four months, but I am restricting my writing today to our upcoming trip to the States. 😁 Lord willing, we will be traveling to the States the end of November for my sister’s wedding. A big thank you to the GCM board for allowing us to take this trip and for helping us with a large chunk of the plane tickets!

We weren’t sure whether or not we should go, but Caleb’s really encouraged us to take the opportunity. We discussed it as a family, and we have decided to take the month of December in the States with a particular focus on sharing about the work here in churches there who have interest. We have been praying that God will create the connections necessary to find the workers we feel we need here.

If your church would be interested in hearing more about the work here in Izcuchaca, Peru, please send me an email: schmidt.shawn.david@gmail.com. Currently, we have some interest expressed in several states, including Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, Michigan, and Kansas. The next week or two, I have to work on the logistics of the trip so that we can hit as many places as possible.

Our plan is for our family to share a program/presentation that will include speaking, singing, and photos that will share a bit about the work here. We’re excited to meet some of you in person for the first time, and we’re excited to share with you what God is doing here.

Please pray for us as we prepare for the trip. More details will probably be shared here in the coming days and weeks.

Probably. 😅
