We have been very busily running to and fro over several states the past few weeks, giving programs and preaching and sharing reports. We’ve had a wonderful time of meeting new people, being encouraged, encouraging others, and so on. It has been good, but we’re feeling a little tuckered out after it all.
I think it was three or four of my children who told me yesterday, “Daddy, I think I’m ready to be home now.” We gave our final program yesterday. We’ve had around fifteen separate interactions since the beginning of December. Our children have done really well at being cheerful in the van over the many miles.
Speaking of miles, if my calculations are correct, we have driven approximately 4,500 miles. Add to that the roughly 7,500 miles of air travel, and we’ll feel like we’ve traveled quite enough by the time we get home! We are grateful that the Lord kept us safe from all traffic troubles along the way. I was pretty sleepy at times, but we tried to be safe. Steph drove only once for a couple of hours that I recall, and I do recall it because the van has a good bit of slop in the steering, and I felt drawn to prayer as Steph went careening down the interstate.
We have been sharing the needs we have for more workers in Peru, and we’re thankful for some of the interest already shared. Please pray about these needs and for those who God may want to fill them.

I was talking to my brother Caleb recently about volunteers, and I think he feels both stressed that we don’t have them and stressed to think that we might be getting some! It takes work to receive workers, but we won’t mind the initial investment for the longterm gain.
Thank you to those churches who were able to host us, and apologies to those churches who wanted to host us but couldn’t. Perhaps there will be another opportunity in the future. There were numerous people who shared with us along the way and helped with both fuel for the van and food for us. We haven’t had to use much of our own money on that at all, and that was a tremendous help! May God bless you for keeping us going!
I’ll include some pictures below. These are snapshots of different places we’ve been.
Please feel free to share the blog with others who may be interested in the church planting work where we are. You can forward them this email or send them to juandavidschmidt.com.
