November Update: Prayer Request for Alicia (11 of 100)

Alicia went to Curahuasi last week to the doctor. You may remember that a couple of years ago, she was in an accident while on a combi. She hit her heard pretty hard, had a concussion and bruising on the brain. Since then from time to time, she has migraines, and they can be dibilitating enough that she cannot work.

I have been able to adjust her back and neck a few times when it was very bad, and that has given her relief. (I briefly studied chiropractics long ago when I was young, so I have a little experience.) I have found that her back and shoulders become tense and out of whack when she has done a lot of lifting. Recently, she has been busy planting her fields and then caring for the new seedlings, weeding and such. I suspect the majority of her pain is from that in combination with the damage to her neck and head from the accident not helping.

She wanted to get a radiograph of her head to see if anything is worsening with her brain injury, but they weren’t able to do that. However, they did find she has a tumor in her throat. They also found that her thyroid is enlarged and put her on steroids for that.

She is going to Cusco today to get a biopsy of the tumor to determine if it’s cancerous or not.

As you think of her, you could pray for her. She would like to be healed so that she can continue to work and provide for herself.

As an aside, she was robbed at market on Friday, and they took her phone. She doesn’t have any money to replace it presently, so that makes communication with her tricky at best.
