We all enjoyed having my sister China and her husband Konrad visit us in November and December.
School came to a close the end of November. Konrad’s were here for the end-of-the year program. We invited community people as usual and had the program at our house. It was an enjoyable event.
We had a heavy hail storm in November that killed off my garden. I had a full garden that I was fully invested in, but after everything was shredded, and most things died, I never fully got back into it. There are still things hiding in the corners of the jungle the garden has become since though.
Alicia gave us a turkey that we used for Thanksgiving with Caleb’s and Konrad’s. I was unhappy that the turkey wasn’t quite fully cooked. We fried it at the end, and it turned out fine. It’s always fun to cook together as a family and pause to spend more focused time in gratefulness to the Lord.
One somewhat sad thing in November was that we had to close the store. With Caleb’s departure on the horizon, Esmeralda felt she couldn’t carry on alone, and I had no time to help keep it going. Knowing Steph’s health was fragile, and she was looking forward to caring for a new baby, I wanted to avoid adding anything to her schedule, either. So closed was the store.
There are only so many things we can handle.
