The school year has kept us busy, much busier than I expected, honestly. I’ve found it harder to keep up with the extra things I’d hoped to do. One of those things is writing here on the blog. 🙂
So, as a small challenge to myself for July, I’m hoping to see how much I can accomplish in the afternoons with whatever time I can carve out.
Looking back to March, one unexpected gift was having Tanner with us a bit longer than originally planned. A travel hiccup with his connection delayed his return home, giving us an extra couple of weeks together. We made the most of that time, working around the house and tackling a few projects.
One afternoon we went over to Hermana Alicia’s to do some work: rewiring, hanging new lights, cleaning up the yard, and even doing a bit of planting. It was a blessing to have extra hands, and we’re always glad when we can help our church family.
After Tanner left, life filled up quickly again. I didn’t have quite the same margin for bigger projects, but we still managed a few small improvements around the house.
One in particular that stands out was opening up a walkway between the kitchen and the laundry room. Though it was just a little change, it made it much easier to access the refrigerators, and we’ve really been glad for it. It was also a project we could all work on together. The whole family pitched in one Saturday and got it done.
We are presently working on moving the entrance of our driveway and putting in a gate. Hopefully, this will help keep out the people who are trying to take the land. More on all that in a future blog.

The entrance project will cost around $1,000. If you’d like to contribute to the entrance project, you can PayPal me with a note “Farm Entrance Project” (to help me track for taxes).
