We enjoyed getting to know Jon and Emily Groff from Massachusetts. Emily had formerly been from Huaral. They married last December, which led to us having many visitors over that time. It felt like completing the circle to finally have them here.
We all loved having them here, but our children were especially delighted. Mr. Jon went out of his way to spend time with them, reading and telling many stories and playing with them at recess.
Unfortunately, he may have pushed himself too hard because he became a bit ill. But he was a trooper and kept plugging along.
One activity we did was to harvest corn at Alicia’s. That was a lot of work. We were thankful for extra hands.
We took them along to the local market as well as on our bimonthly city shipping trip. We purchased extra food because we knew we had plans for other visitors in the coming months.
But some visitors we didn’t expect were Derik and Rosalie from Huaral. They were on their wedding trip, so it was extra special to host them over the weekend.
We enjoyed hearing about their many adventures on their trip, having lots of books read, and playing Taco, Gato, Cabra, Queso, Pizza.
