I found it hard to believe it’s been months since I’ve written once I sat down to write again. After the last post, we had a slew of visitors and other activities one after the other it seems, so I suppose I fell off the band wagon and have been sitting there ever since, waiting for the wagon train to return.
The beginning of July, we welcomed Andrew Crider and Orlando Rosales from Guatemala for a week of revival meetings. The weather was cold, but the fellowship was warm!
We greatly enjoyed having the brothers here. I especially enjoyed getting to know Orlando and talking with him about the church and the future. It was fun testing my Peruvian Spanish against his Guatemalan Spanish.
Andrew gave the evening and weekend messages. We had quite a few visitors over the the meetings, and I was happy to see Rafael and Elizabeth and Piero back again. My heart still hurts for them, and we continue to pray that they will one day surrender to the Lord.
The meetings were an encouragement to the sisters and to us here. It was good to have Kenton Slabaugh with us over that time too. He was visiting at the time, but has since moved here, and is a member of the church (more on that in another post). Kenton, Orlando, Andrew, and I had many deep talksβand some not-so-deep, healthy ribbing.
The week flew by for us, especially because we had more visitors arrive toward the end of the meetings. More on them tomorrow, Lord enabling. I have a bunch of writing to do over the next little bit to get caught up again. It’s too easy to forget to write about life as we’re busy living it.
