Report from March 2026 – Part 2 (51 of 100)

Getting back from Guatemala, we jumped right back into life: Bible studies with Cirila, church activity at the school house / Gabriela’s house / the guest house, church services, and more.

Sadly, more of Kenton’s cows went the way of all the world. It was especially disappointing because he had determined that he was ready to sell them, but they must have caught wind of it, and rather than being parted from Kenton, they just gave up the ghost.

Josiah Martin heard that I was planning to sell our truck, so he called to discuss that. His brother Nathan was down from the States, visiting them in Huaral. It would work out well for them to fly over and drive the truck back. So in only a few days, we had sold the truck and said goodbye. We had many adventures in that truck! I hope it serves Josiah and his family well.

Ernest and Regina Martin and Brent and Ruth Slabaugh from Huaral came to visit us. The purpose of the visit was to somewhat officially get to know the folks here now that Huaral has made the decision to move ahead with an outreach here. The couples had time to meet with everyone here and chat about some things they knew or hoped for the future. Brent’s came a day earlier than Ernest’s; we made banana pudding to celebrate since they weren’t here when Simon’s were.

I had the fun of doing the design. That’s the tastiest part. πŸ˜‰

Something a bit disturbing was seeing a host of police officers show up behind our pig barn. I think we counted over sixty. There has been ongoing trouble between our neighbor Oscar and his uncle Celso. This is the same Celso who sold the property here to Levi Martin years ago, and who has caused us much grief over the years. Apparently, Celso won a lawsuit against his nephew and came with the police to take possession of over half of what was formerly Oscar’s property.

We are hopeful that things will not go that way for the property here, but one never knows. Levi and I have been recently in contact again with Levi’s lawyer, trying to move ahead with getting an official title for Levi, which should bring all property troubles to an end. In fact, I was just today talking with the lawyer again, trying to push for her to move forward before Levi comes to visit in a few weeks, Lord willing. You can pray about that, please.
