In September, 2025, Kenton Slabaugh moved to Izcuchaca! I only hoped then, but my hopes have been richly rewarded, that he would be an asset to the church here. He has been such a blessing to the community and to me personally. God knew how much I needed another brother here; I feel grateful for His gift.

Kenton came with the intention of buying the farm business off me and taking that over, which he did. And I will say he has done an admirable job with learning to be a cattle and hog farmer. Not long after he arrived, we gathered seed from the four corners of Cuzco and seeded the hay fields. After that, we waited for rain.

Gabriela was also back here from Huaral to teach school. Besides a few minor bumps in the road at first, we had a wonderful school year with her. She’s a great teacher, patient, fun, and creative. Our students sound much more Venezuelan now after her teaching, so I guess she was pretty effective at passing on her native Spanish. Gabriela and her parents came to Peru from Venezuela about seven years ago due to the economic crisis there. We’re thankful God used that hardship for our good.
